Readings
The reading series is designed to offer playwrights a chance to see and hear their work read out loud by professional actors. Each reading is directed and rehearsed a number of times before being presented to an invited audience. In our effort to assist writers it is vital that you take an active part in the development of your play. We encourage rewriting, and communication with your director. So the requirements are simple. 1) You give us a play in a state that is complete and ready to be read. 2) It hasn’t had a reading in New York City, at least not of the draft you’re presenting us. 3) That you are able and inspired to work on rewrites. 4) That you attend at least one of the readings of your play. 5) That you’re willing to participate in a post reading talk back with the audience. If you feel you meet these requirements, then we’d love to screen your work via email (send a cast breakdown and synopsis) and we will then see if we’d like to read your work.
